Åre Sweden in Summer
As soon as the winter season draws to a close Are Sweden jumps into summer mode and the "dry-land" season begins.During the summer months from June to October Åre Sweden yet again becomes a haven for tourists. This time it is the summer activities that catch the eye of tourists from all around the world. Downhill Mountain Bike Park
The downhill mountain biking in Are sweden is fairly extensive with a good selection of runs for riders of all levels. The trails range from beginner right through to expert with 10 Blue, 8 Red and 10 Black trails around the mountain.
The lifts are open from June to October and lift passes are available either from the skistar shops at the base of the resort or online via the skistar website.

There are a number of different hiking trails around Åre, ranging from easy strolls along the lake to expert trails for the serious hikers among you. Be sure to check trail conditions and weather forecasts with the tourist information centre before heading out and make sure someone knows where you are going.
White Water Rafting
White water rafting is a popular activity in Are Sweden during the summer. Most of the activity centres and businesses in the area offer this on their activities list. Tours are available in large boats for larger groups as well as options for double or single kayaks. Kayak and Canoe tours are also available on the more gentle waters in the region for less adrenaline fuelled and more family friendly exploration.
Ride the Kabinbanan cable car to the top of Åreskutan to find the paragliding centre. Experience the beauty of the region from a birds perspective as you fly gently through the air back down to the village level.
Climbing, Abseiling & Caving
There are many different climbing and abseiling locations close to Are village with options to suit all levels from beginner and family right through to advanced. Are mountain resort is home to Europe's largest Zip Line Park... Allow plenty of time for this one! Experience the sensation of flying while travelling at high speed suspended by a harness. This is a great adrenaline fuelled activity for everyone to enjoy.
Cable car ride on the Kabinbanan will take the whole family to the top of Åreskutan where you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding region. Another popular family activity is to visit the chocolate factory Åre Choladfabrik and taste some of the popular and famous local produce from the region. For family fun in the water visit the local water park at the Holiday Club or the beach.
