Getting to Åre

Location

Åre mountain resort is Located in the Åre municipality of Sweden. Due to the location of Åre resort, at only 220 miles south of the Arctic Circle, the climate in Åre can be extreme.

Driving Directions from Ostersund to Åre

Head out of Ostersund towards Rödövägen Then join the E14 heading north west to Åre resort.

Flying in to Trondheim

International flights to Ostersund can be quite limited and Trondheim across the border in Norway offers a good alternative. While Trondheim is 170km away from Are it is relatively easy to get from there to the resort. There is a train station right next to the airport and with just one change at Hell Station this can get you to Are relatively quickly and easily. Alternatively if you prefer to drive the E14 east from Tronheim runs right through Are.

Getting to Åre Sweden by Bus

Åre Bussen run a weekly bus service from Stockholm to Åre ski resort during the winter season.

Skybus runs a regular service to Åre ski resort from Ostersund airport.
